Pre Hand In

I have finally finished my dissertation and have had it checked over multiple times by my one to one helper. I feel confident with my dissertation. I just need to print and bind it before I hand it in.

Week Nine

I have made progress on my dissertation and I feel confident that I will meet the deadline. I will be focusing more on writing my dissertation so my next post will be the week before hand in.

Week Eight

I have had my meeting with Martina and I have started progressing on my dissertation. I have started writing my introduction and have planned my time going forward so I can meet the deadline. Thankfully all of my research overlaps with my 302 project.

Week Two

After the first group tutorial with Mohini, I am looking into the different types of images used in charities and organisations projects, whether it is for raising awareness or campaigning for legislative changes. I will be looking into the different viewer reactions that the different organisations are aiming for and the target audience for each campaign. This will allow me to narrow my dissertation question further allowing me to comfortably meet the word count, whilst still going into the subject matter in depth. I will need to research the two different types of images used, soft hitting and hard hitting. I will posit why they were used and what they were aiming for in terms of the reaction and whether they achieved what they were aiming for. I will also be looking at relevant photographers and the motivations behind the images they took. I will be looking at photographers such as Don MacCaskill who shot images to get more people to love and care for the environment and think mor...

Week Seven

I have started writing my dissertation by writing reviews on two contemporary photographers as Martina asked and she will be looking over them and telling me how I could improve them for my dissertation. I have also been working on my chapter outlines for how my dissertation will flow and what I will b writing about.

Week Six

I have started to research my condition in depth. I have looked in the library for all potential resources for my new dissertation. I have also gone online, looking for newer resources for my dissertation. I have bought a book authored by Dr Luke Beardon who has years of experience with autistic people and their families. As the book was published in 2017 it is very up to date and full of relevent information.

Week Five

In the group tutorial Mohini looked over my chapter outlines and was satisfied with my plans for my dissertation. I plan on continuing my research and begin to write my introduction before seeing Martina later in the week. After Martina's small group tutorial, I was panicked and worrying about what I would do for my dissertation. My anxiety and stress levels were such that I ended up ill on top of everything. I decided to spend the weekend thinking on what I could do for my dissertation without losing all of the research that I had done over the summer. I also wanted to recover from the stress and anxiety which meant a day in bed not thinking about it as well as other measures. I mind mapped what was important to me and what strongly influences my practice. After a lot of thinking, over a few days I decided to use my disability, Autism.
